Phu ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Phu mobile application and phu.town website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

Information we collect

We may collect the following types of information:

Account information: When you sign up or sign in, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through Supabase Auth. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture as permitted by Google. On the web, you may also sign in with a passkey where supported.
Profile information: Information you add to your Phu profile, such as your display name, photo, membership details, and location preferences.
Visa and stay information: If you use the visa tracker, we store visa type, passport details, entry and expiry dates, reminder preferences, and related notes you provide.
Saved items and preferences: Places, events, jobs, housing listings, and other content you save or favorite in the app.
Community content: Posts, replies, and likes you create in community features, associated with your account.
Housing listings: If you publish a listing, we store the content you submit, including descriptions, photos, location, and contact details you choose to provide.
Notifications: Your notification preferences and, if you enable push notifications, an Expo push token linked to your device so we can deliver alerts.
Feedback: If you send feedback through the app, we process your message and account email to respond.
Usage and device data: General information about how you use the app, your device type, operating system, and app version to operate and improve the service.
Location data: With your permission, we may collect approximate or precise location to show nearby places, weather for your area, and relevant local content.
Photos: With your permission, we access photos you choose to upload for profile avatars or listing images.
Locally stored data: Certain data may be cached on your device using SQLite, secure storage, or similar local storage to support offline use and faster loading.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Phu app and website
Authenticate your account and manage your session
Personalize your experience and show relevant local content
Deliver push notifications and in-app alerts you have requested
Process feedback and support requests
Monitor usage, diagnose issues, and protect against fraud or abuse
Comply with legal obligations

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

Service providers that help us operate Phu, including Supabase (authentication, database, file storage, and server functions), Google (sign-in, Places, and Maps), Expo (push notification delivery), and Resend (feedback email delivery)
Legal and safety purposes when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Phu, our users, or others

Analytics and crash reporting

Phu does not currently use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. We may use basic server and application logs to operate and secure the service.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

Your rights

Depending on your location, including under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and object to certain processing. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Phu is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
